Nominations for the 23rd EY Entrepreneur Of Year™ (EOY) awards in Malaysia are now open until 30 June 2024.

During this period, members of the public and the business community are invited to nominate outstanding Malaysian entrepreneurs in their respective fields.

The annual EOY Malaysia award programme seeks to recognize and celebrate some of Malaysia’s most exemplary entrepreneurs across four categories: Emerging, Technology, Woman and Master. An overall country winner, who will be chosen from among the four category winners, will then go on to represent Malaysia at the prestigious EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) next year.

Nominees will be assessed by a panel of independent judges guided by a set of globally benchmarked criteria that include entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact.

The theme for the awards this year is “The Art of Entrepreneurship”, in recognition of entrepreneurs who continuously repaint and reframe our economy from innovative new angles through their passionate work and commitment.

Philip Rao, Programme Director of EOY Malaysia and Partner, Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn. Bhd says:

“This year's theme ‘The Art of Entrepreneurship’ celebrates the blend of passion, drive, personality and expertise required to establish businesses that address today’s unique challenges in their pursuit to build a better working world. These trailblazers consistently demonstrate these traits as they skillfully navigate through today’s unprecedented challenges and change. Through their efforts, they create innovative works of art that significantly benefit the communities and economies around them.

“Over the past two decades, the EOY programme has grown to become an important part of our local entrepreneurial ecosystem, honouring more than 300 local entrepreneurs across various industries. We are excited to continue spotlighting these inspiring innovators and their stories, both locally and on the global stage.”

Come June this year, Dato’ Foong Wei Kuong (拿督冯伟强) of JF Technology Bhd and EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023 Malaysia, will represent Malaysia at the WEOY, in Monte Carlo, to compete with winners from 47 countries.

“We believe that Malaysia holds many untold and inspirational entrepreneurial stories. We encourage all homegrown entrepreneurs, regardless of size, background or industry, to join the EOY Malaysia programme,” urged Rao.
