With revenues of €535.9b, the creative and cultural industries (CCIs) contribute to 4.2% of Europe’s GDP.
More than 7 millions of Europeans are directly or indirectly employed in creative and cultural activities — 3.3% of the EU’s active population. CCIs in the EU employ nearly as many people as the food and beverage service industry does. They provide work for nearly 2.5 times more people than automotive manufacturers and 5 times more than the chemical industry.
