We work with clients to address their specific circumstances and help turn strategy into reality. This is why Advisory is our fastest-growing service line and an energetic, rapidly-changing environment with nearly 48,000 professionals around the world.

Because Advisory is a diverse and fluid business area you’ll be involved in a huge variety of work. This will involve providing wide-ranging and constantly changing ideas to our clients across a broad spectrum of industries and locations.

Working in Risk, you’ll be offering our clients more than protection. You’ll also be helping them make better and faster decisions, reduce costs and improve performance. It’s a fast-moving area, as global risks change at a dramatic pace, so you’ll be helping clients continuously evaluate their risk management processes and identify the risks that matter.

Information Technology Risk and Assurance (ITRA)

EY - Information Technology Risk & Assurance (ITRA)

IT is a significant factor behind business success. Working in ITRA you’ll help clients rationalize IT costs, manage their overall IT risk position and deliver value from IT. You’ll also have the opportunity yo work alongside clients to manage their IT risks in line with their business strategy, giving them the confidence that their organization’s key IT-related risks are identified, understood and managed effectively.

IT Advisory

EY - IT Advisory

Our IT Advisory professionals work with commercial and public sector organizations. They provide independent advice on how clients’ IT operations can support their business strategy and its implementation. Working with them you’ll help to provide insights into organizational culture and help align a client’s technology with their people and processes.

Cross-Advisory

External Audit at EY plays a huge role in preserving the integrity of the global business landscape. You can provide peace of mind to our clients by using your analytical skills to give companies, investors and regulators confidence in the validity of financial statements, business-critical information or processes.

Your main focus will be to provide independent verification of our clients’ compliance with accounting principles. By doing so, you play an important role in helping businesses accurately reflect their financial picture and, in turn, protecting financial markets.

Climate Change and Sustainability

EY - Climate Change and Sustainability

Our Climate Change and Sustainability Services team is grounded in our core skills in Assurance, Tax, Transactions and Advisory. Working in this area you’ll be able to help our clients understand business and regulatory threats and opportunities, explore and execute commercial transactions, monitor performance and assure public disclosures on progress.

Financial Accounting Advisory

EY - Financial Accounting Advisory

As an assurance professional you’ll learn how to provide relevant business and industry insights, and help non-audit clients focus on issues that matter to them. Through our Financial Accounting Advisory Services, you’ll help with many current critical issues, including IFRS conversion support, implementation of new accounting standards and assistance with public offerings.

 

2. Fraud Investigations and Disputes

Organizations need to respond effectively to the risk of fraud, comply with ever-increasing regulation, and take the right approach to business disputes. You’ll be helping our clients develop strategies to pre-empt, manage and resolve the risks of business conflict. You’ll also assist in investigating alleged misconduct, fraud and non-compliance with regulation.

How will you help clients?

You’ll help leading organizations to realize their strategic objectives via a wide spectrum of tasks such as acquisitions, divestitures/disposals, mergers, capital increases and more. You will be responsible for project-managing the steps, assisting in negotiations and measuring transaction implications.

What will you do?

You’ll gain a deep understanding of industries and market trends so that you can add value through leading business reviews, acquisitions, leveraged transactions, disposals, takeovers and mergers. These types of transactions are significant to any organization as it grows, transforms and matures.

Infrastructure Advisory

How will you help clients?

You’ll help public sector clients procure infrastructure-related projects and help private sector clients structure and finance deals.

What will you do?

You’ll evaluate new service options, develop financial models, negotiate funding and provide advice to secure the most competitive terms.

Restructuring

How will you help clients?

You’ll help provide recommendations to address urgent and important business problems at all stages of the business life cycle. You’ll do this by supporting boards and executive teams, lenders or other financial stakeholders when internal or external change, profitability, and/or liquidity issues threaten the stability of a business, particularly when an approach is required quickly.

What will you do?

Your clients will be in challenged or event-driven situations, so your focus will be on quickly identifying and understanding not only their financial and operational issues, but also how their business and industry works, before making decisions and acting accordingly. You’ll be involved in providing the following services: creditor advisory, distressed corporate advisory, distressed operational restructuring, distressed supplier advisory, formal insolvency and legal entity rationalization.

Operational Transaction Services

You’ll provide a full range of hands-on, operationally focused support and advice across the transaction life cycle, whether supporting a buyer or seller.

You'll work alongside the client’s executive team to prepare and execute integration plans that deliver value across a diverse stakeholder group, from increasing synergies and financial benefits to considering the organization’s sustainability and the well-being of its people and their community.

Real Estate Advisory

How will you help clients?

You’ll develop capital market strategies for private and public sector clients to acquire or dispose of real estate to meet their goals.

What will you do?

You’ll undertake feasibility studies, develop capital market strategies, provide advice that supports real estate portfolio goals and lead implementation projects. You’ll play an integral role in providing commercial value and, in some cases, physically transforming entire communities.

Valuation & Business Modeling

How will you help clients?

You’ll help clients understand the value of their business, securities, intellectual property, capital equipment, intangibles and other assets. Further, you’ll work with businesses to develop models using alternative operational assumptions and financing structures that incorporate key risks and uncertainties.

Using strong analytical skills, experience and judgment, you'll assist your clients in finding solutions to their most complex financial issues. This includes providing modeling support for strategic decisions, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, private equity deals, pricing, and bid evaluation and restructuring

Strategy Services

How will you help clients?

You’ll provide a broad spectrum of front-end strategic advice to help clients' reach their full potential as they navigate market disruptions and technological change. This covers growth strategy, transaction strategy and operations strategy.

What will you do?

You’ll uncover business insights, perform market research, build financial models and conduct complex data analyses to identify insights related to your client’s business. Through pro-actively identifying both internal and external opportunities, you’ll be able to quickly navigate new, emerging and disruptive market forces and trends.

Transaction Support

How will you help clients?

You’ll provide financial, tax, IT, operational, HR, commercial and legal due diligence to identify key drivers, improve deal structures, reduce risks and challenge assumptions about future performance.

What will you do?

You’ll advise clients across the transaction lifecycle – from strategic assessment to implementation and post-deal integration. Using both historical data and predictive and social media analytics, you’ll help companies focus on deal drivers that pose the most investment risk or opportunity for return. You’ll also offer insight into a target company’s competitive positioning, product mix, operations, customer relationships and future outlook.

Transaction Tax

How will you help clients?

Combining both cross-border experience with local tax knowledge, you’ll guide clients to make informed decisions and navigate the tax implications of their transaction. This will allow them to limit transaction risk, enhance opportunity and provide crucial negotiation insights.

What you will do?

You'll advise companies and private equity investors on all tax aspects of their transactions across a wide range of industries and geographies. You'll also work alongside restructuring colleagues to advise companies in financial difficulties, including those in formal insolvency proceedings, on sales of non-core businesses to restore their balance sheets.

Indirect Tax

Our indirect tax professionals work with clients that trade goods or services nationally and internationally. Work with them and you’ll advise how indirect taxes such as value added tax (VAT) or goods and services tax (GST) impact your clients’ supply chain and financial and accounting systems.

You’ll identify and address areas of risk, advise clients on the taxation implications of international trade and assist them in complying with customs regulations. Working in Indirect Tax, you’ll gain wide-ranging experience across different industries and opportunities to work internationally, and receive the support you need to become a value tax professional.

International Tax

Our international tax professionals help multinational companies align their global tax position with their business strategy to maintain a competitive advantage and provide shareholder value.

International tax teams support clients’ cross-border transactions, assess their international tax strategies and provide a range of services, including transfer pricing policies and tax-effective supply chain management.

As a member of our international tax team, you’ll gain experience on engagements with some of the world’s largest international organizations and have opportunities to work with different tax regimes through international assignments.

Transaction Tax

Our transaction tax professionals advise companies and private equity investors on all tax aspects of their transactions.

They assist clients with structuring transaction tax efficiently and undertake tax due-diligence reviews of potential targets.

Together with Restructuring colleagues, they also help companies in financial difficulties. This includes helping those in formal insolvency proceedings to restore their balance sheets by advising on sales of non-core businesses.

Transaction tax professionals look after clients of all sizes across all industries, working closely with colleagues in different service lines around the world. In this dynamic and rapidly-changing environment, you’ll work on a variety of transactions. These range from acquisitions of small family-owned businesses to significant, newsworthy deals, including acquisitions, disposals, mergers, de-mergers, joint ventures, refinancing or stock exchange transactions such as IPOs. EY Industrial Placement

If you’ve chosen a degree that requires a year in industry, or simply want a year’s work experience, this placement can give you 12 months of valuable business know-how.

Working within our Assurance, Tax, Transactions or Advisory practices, you’ll be performing a role similar to that of a new graduate. From the outset, you’ll be working on real client projects and will contribute to a variety of work across a range of sectors.

We suggest you apply early as there’s a large number of people who apply for a limited number of positions.

EY Work Experience Program

EY - Work Experience Program

This intensive program kicks off with two days of training for our Tax or Advisory service line. This will equip you with the basics to participate in a client-facing project team. You’ll then contribute to live projects and gain valuable insights into professional life.

Successful participants are also offered the opportunity to be fast-tracked to an internship in their final year. Placements are limited, so apply early.
