Global Insurance Risk and Regulatory Leader
Martin co-leads Ernst & Young’s Insurance Sector across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. He is also Global Insurance Regulatory and Risk Leader for Ernst & Young. Martin joined Ernst & Young in 2005 from Tillinghast where he worked for seven years. Martin started his career at Norwich Union and over nine years carried out a range of financial management and actuarial roles. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Matt is a Director based in Sydney. Matt has led a number of significant industry projects relating to risk and capital - regularly working with regulators and industry stakeholders as well as chief risk officers and heads of capital across large financial services organizations. Matt has also led and worked on strategic and business transformation engagements for a number of large insurers across Asia. Matt originally worked in our London office where he led EY's early Solvency II engagements and has reviewed and built economic capital models.

Phil Vermeulen, a senior member of the European Actuarial Services team, is located in Zürich. His experience with Solvency II includes leading the implementation of Solvency II across all three Pillars for a multinational insurance group, implementation of the ORSA for a leading multinational, as well as leading the submissions for the Solvency II Quantitative Impact Studies for a number of European clients. He has experience of advising clients on their economic capital calculations, including the audit of economic capital disclosures of a large multinational group, as well as implementation of the requirements of the ICA in the UK and the Swiss Solvency Test.
