Kenneth Hausser

Kenneth Hausser is an Executive Director for Ernst & Young LLP’s Employment Tax Advisory Services. He devotes his time to payroll and employment tax compliance and unemployment insurance tax based statutory elections. He provides tax advisory services primarily to clients in the financial services industry, and has experience with many federal, state and local payroll and employment tax issues across most industries.

Since joining Ernst & Young LLP in 2001, Ken has assisted clients with a broad range of specific payroll and employment tax process issues, including complete payroll process reviews to identify specific exposure areas. Additionally, Ken has assisted various clients on payroll conversions, implementations and risk assessments.

Nicki King

Ernst & Young LLP, Unemployment Claims Management

Nicki King leads Ernst & Young LLP’s Dallas center for unemployment claims administration and tax services, where she is responsible for the firm’s unemployment claims services practice and related strategic initiatives, business development and client relationship management.

Nicki has 30 years’ experience as a third-party unemployment insurance services provider and served seven years as a claims adjudicator for the State of California. She has worked with many Fortune 500 companies across all industries to implement, oversee and improve their unemployment processes and programs.

Nicki has served on the selection committee for the Quality Dayton Excellence Award, an award patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. She is an active member of the UWC Strategic Services for Unemployment and Workers’ Compensation.

Matthew Ort

Ernst & Young LLP, Employment Tax Advisory Services

Matthew Ort is a senior manager with Ernst & Young LLP’s Employment Tax Services practice in Dallas, Texas. He practices exclusively in the area of federal, state and local employment tax matters.

Matt’s payroll and employment tax advisory experience includes multistate income tax withholding, merger and acquisition integration, refund studies, statutory election analysis, risk management services, process reviews, information reporting and compliance. His experience also includes federal and state taxation and information reporting requirements for executive compensation, deferred compensation and stock options.

Matt received a BS in Finance and Accounting from Trinity University and a JD from St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, School of Law. In addition, he is a licensed attorney and member of the American Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association and the United States Tax Court.

Debera Salam

Ernst & Young LLP, Employment Tax Advisory Services

Debera Salam is Director of Payroll Management Services for Ernst & Young LLP’s Employment Tax Advisory Services. Debera concentrates on projects that have a compliance and payroll audit focus, including systems implementations, process improvement, and internal and external payroll audits. Her broad based knowledge of all payroll compliance areas, including garnishments, coupled with her prior experience in federal and state lobbying initiatives, gives her the ability to coordinate a diverse range of payroll projects.

Among her many activities in the payroll industry, Debera currently is an advisory board member for Research Institute of America's Payroll Guide, and an advisory board member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.

Debera is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

Mike Willett

Ernst & Young LLP, Employment Tax Advisory Services

Mike Willett is the National Business Development Leader for Ernst & Young LLP’s Employment Tax Services. Mike has over 30 years’ experience assisting human resources, finance and tax professionals of Fortune 1000 companies in identifying service models that are aligned to their strategic goals.

Mike functions as liaison between Ernst & Young LLP’s leadership and clients in complex environments to assess the effectiveness of their current unemployment claims and employment tax programs.

Mike serves as an Ambassador for the Atlanta Society for Human Resource Management Chapter. Mike is also certified in Miller Heiman’s Strategic Selling.


Gregory Carver

Ernst & Young LLP, National Director, Employment Tax Advisory Services

Greg Carver is a Principal and National Director of Ernst & Young LLP’s Employment Tax Services overseeing employment tax professionals throughout the firm. Greg’s primary role is to make sure the appropriate resources are deployed to firm clients to produce quality work products and overall client satisfaction.

Greg has over 25 years of employment tax experience working closely with many of the firm’s Fortune 1000 clients in various industries. He has been extensively involved in leading strategic tax planning engagements, assisting clients with securing multi-million dollar employment tax refunds and savings. Greg has directed many clients through the design and implementation of executive level planning strategies, incorporating and addressing their business, non-business and employment tax issues.

Greg holds current and previous affiliations with the American Payroll Association, the Association of Unemployment Tax Organizations (AUTO) and UWC - Strategic Services on Unemployment & Workers' Compensation. Greg obtained a BBA in Business from Baylor University.
