Ernst & Young wins prestigious Business Strategy Award
London 29 April 2008: A team from Ernst & Young Business Advisory Services (BAS) last night received the award for Best Business Strategy Project at the annual Management Consultancies' Association (MCA) Awards, held at the Park Lane Hilton.
Ernst & Young wins 'Auditor of the Year' in Real Finance/CBI Finance Directors' Excellence Awards
London 16 April 2008: The UK's finance director community voted Ernst & Young 'Big Four' auditor of the year at last nights Real Finance/CBI Finance Directors' Excellence Awards. Over 760 finance directors nominated Ernst & Young for the prestigious award.
At the ceremony, Ernst & Young were commended for its commerciality and tax services.
Ernst & Young Chairman Mark Otty said: “We are delighted to receive this award, which is especially valued as it has been given by finance directors. I am very proud of all our audit teams and their commitment to quality – the award is a testament to their hard work."
Ernst & Young leads UK training and development

For the second year in succession, Ernst & Young was placed among the top five big companies in the highly prestigious Best Companies to Work For Awards, picking up a special prize for training and development. For the second year in a row, Ernst & Young was last night named the Best Accounting Firm at The Hedge Fund Journal industry awards. The 350-strong team beat competitors from other accountancy firms and boutique consultancies to take the prestigious title at the second HFJ awards night. Read more.
Ernst & Young’s Birmingham office wins prestigious chamber of commerce annual awards dinner
Birmingham, Friday 2nd March: Ernst & Young’s Birmingham office won Best Professional & Financial Services Business Award, at this year’s Birmingham Chamber of Commerce annual awards dinner.
The firm’s nomination focused on new client wins, financial performance, people & values initiatives and its corporate responsibility activities.
Ronnie Bowker, Ernst & Young’s senior partner in Birmingham said: “The Chamber of Commerce would normally recognise more locally owned/focused organisations, but in this case our active local corporate responsibility programme convinced them that we were acting like a local business in many ways, and not just as a branch of a national/global organisation.”
Ernst & Young Birmingham get the balance just right
The Birmingham office of Ernst & Young has scooped the Work-Life Balance Award, in the large private business sector, at the recent Birmingham & Solihull Best Business Awards.
The award is in recognition of the policies and practices the firm has put in place in recent years, which have helped to achieve a better work-life balance.
Ronnie Bowker, Ernst & Young’s senior partner, said that it is recognition for one of the most innovative and flexible working environments in the professional services industry. “There are many schemes and initiatives available to Ernst & Young employees which encourage them to retain a healthy work-life balance.
“There is Ernst & Young’s Parent Network, providing support for parents; well being support, including relaxation techniques, and fitness and dietary advice; and cultural leave, providing faith rooms and the option to work UK bank holidays in return for faith days."
