Taxation of foreign profits
The discussion document on the taxation of the foreign profits of companies was published on 21 June 2007. As anticipated, the main areas that have been addressed are:
- Introduction of an exemption system for certain foreign dividends received on 'participation holdings'
- Reform of the CFC rules, now referred to as the Controlled Company rules, and
- Restriction of interest deductibility relief.
