EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards Program in East Africa – Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Ethiopia.

The programme in Southern Africa was launched in 1998 and has now been launched in Eastern Africa as of 2011. This programme is proudly sponsored by Standard Chartered.

The Master entrepreneur category award was designed to honour individuals whose outstanding achievements have made them the world's most successful entrepreneurial business leaders.

The Emerging entrepreneur category, introduced in 2005, was created to single out and acknowledge individuals who have shown exceptional tenacity and determination in building a successful enterprise. In the face of adversity and significant challenges, they helped fuel economic growth in South Africa.

Entrepreneurship is about vision combined with hard work, breaking new ground or redefining the already tried and tested. Our award recipients manage companies that are real West African success stories.

How the Eastern Africa chapter works

Anyone, including employees, company advisors and financiers can nominate a successful entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs may nominate themselves and/or peers. Candidates for the Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards are nominated into one of the following three categories.
