Entrepreneur of the Year in Luxembourg: the six finalists just unveiled!
Luxembourg, 8 November 2013
As announced on 24 June 2013 during a press conference, EY Luxembourg is organizing this year, for the fourth time in Luxembourg the Entrepreneur of the Year competition, which aims at awarding the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation and at unveiling the exceptional story of entrepreneurs, women and men, based in Luxembourg.
Today, the jury of this renowned competition is pleased to congratulate the six finalists of this fourth edition of the Entrepreneur of the Year in Luxembourg’s competition, who are as follows (see the appendices for more details):
- Ada and Olivier Amengual
- René Elvinger
- Norbert Friob
- Ferdinand Hein et Pierre Thein
- René Grosbusch
- Christiane Wickler
This nomination is the result of a rigorous selection process of all the candidates to the Entrepreneur of the Year award, who had the opportunity, for those who were selected, to meet the EY professionals, who helped them establish a personalized diagnostic of their companies before providing the members of an independent jury with their sound business cases.
The independent jury of the « Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 Award » chaired this year by Robert Dennewald, President of FEDIL, is composed of:
Gary Kneip – Confédération Luxembourgeoise du Commerce
Tom Theves – Ministry of Economy
Georges Muller – Fédération des Jeunes Dirigeants d’Entreprise
Jacques Lanners – Ceratizit S.A., the winner of the previous edition of the Entrepreneur of the Year in Luxembourg.
“This Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 competition promises to be an exceptional edition because of the high quality of the applications this year. Furthermore, such a competition does not only help reveal outstanding personalities, who differentiate themselves from their talent and their sense of audacity, but it is also an exceptional individual and collective human story, which promotes the key success factors and the future potential of companies, while helping them raise their visibility and benefit from a strong media coverage”, says Alain Kinsch, Country Managing Partner of EY Luxembourg.
“With regard to this outstanding edition, it was particularly hard for our jury members to select the six finalists this year. This is particularly the reason why we have decided to complement the Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 award, which will officially be announced in less than a month, with a “Special Jury Award” presented by BGL BNP Paribas Wealth Management, adds Robert Dennewald, Chaiman of the Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 edition.
Yves Even, EY Partner in charge of the Entrepreneur of the Year program in Luxembourg explains that “EY is very proud to organize this Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 edition in collaboration with Audi, BGL BNP Paribas and Le Foyer, who are this year’s official sponsors, and also supported by the Ministry of Economy, the Fédération des Jeunes Dirigeants d’Entreprise, the FEDIL Association, the Confédération Luxembourgeoise du Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg.
With its Entrepreneur of the Year program, EY aspires to celebrate the entrepreneurs’ talent in Luxembourg and to reward those who distinguish themselves with their entrepreneurial spirit and innovation, an ingenious and sustainable development strategy, an outstanding financial performance and with a relevant HR and organization management. As the key drivers of growth and competitiveness, those entrepreneurs feed on confidence and cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit”.
Launched in 1986 by Ernst & Young in the United States, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, known as the most prestigious award assigned to entrepreneurs coming from all over the world, has been organized in more than 140 cities, 50 countries and rewards more than 900 outstanding entrepreneurs each and every year.
The winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 edition in Luxembourg will be unveiled during a prestigious gala ceremony with the presence of a special guest in the Chapito of Mondorf-les-Bains on 2 December 2013.
The winner in Luxembourg will then have the privilege of competing for the World Entrepreneur of the Year competition which will take place in June 2014 in Monte-Carlo.
