EY to move to Cambridge Terrace

16 April 2014 - EY is moving back to central Christchurch as an anchor tenant within Ngai Tahu Property’s development in the city’s CBD.

It’s expected EY will move from Twigger St in early 2017 to its new location at the historic King Edward Barracks, between Cashel St, Hereford St, Montreal St and Cambridge Terrace. The master plan for the site, launched today, reveals a unique combination of commercial, residential and government tenants.

Bruce Gemmell, EY’s Christchurch Managing Partner, says the move represents a new era for the firm.

“The move to our new premises will mark a significant milestone for EY in Christchurch and we are excited that our brand will be up in lights as part of the CBD’s cityscape,” Gemmell said.

“The relocation reflects our continued investment in the growth of our business and reaffirms our commitment to our people, our clients and the wider Christchurch community.

“When selecting our new premises, it was important for us to be located close to our clients and remain in the financial and business heart of the city. In Cambridge Terrace we have found the ideal location for us to take EY Christchurch to even greater heights.

“We were also keen to invest in our people as well as in sustainable work practices so, with its focus on innovation and sustainability, the new development is a perfect for us as an organisation. I look forward to leading the team from our new offices as we continue to drive the growth of EY in the Christchurch marketplace,” Gemmell said.
