Hybrid Social Solutions CEO named Schwab Foundation 2013 Social Entrepreneur

21 February 2013 – Jaime I. Ayala, founder and CEO of Hybrid Social Solutions Inc. (HSSi) and Entrepreneur Of The Year Philippines 2012 winner, was acknowledged by the Geneva-based Schwab Foundation as one of the 24 global Social Entrepreneurs of the Year for 2013. The winners were selected in recognition of their innovative approaches and potential for global impact. The chosen entrepreneurs work across different sectors including health, education, employment and the environment.

On his latest recognition as a social entrepreneur, Ayala says, “the Schwab Foundation is one of the pioneers in social enterprise, and it is an honor to be recognized as one of the Social Entrepreneurs of the Year for 2013. The award is a testament to the hard work of our team and network of partners to uplift the lives of rural Filipinos. I look forward to joining Schwab's global network of social entrepreneurs to learn of innovative and game changing approaches for eradicating poverty”.

Also among the 2013 awardees is another Filipino social entrepreneur, Reese Fernandez-Ruiz of Rags2Riches. The awardees will become part of the broader Schwab Foundation community of Social Entrepreneurs, which includes 234 social entrepreneurs from 59 countries.

The impact of the award was discussed during a livecast session at The Huffington Post featuring Hilde Schwab, Co-Founder and Chairperson, Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, and David Aikman, Senior Director, World Economic Forum and Head, Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.
