    Test

    • There are two ways to take our tests – online or in our offices.
    • When applying to some departments you can take the test online. If so, you will receive a link to a special website, where you will be asked to analyze both texts and numerical information, as well as to test your English level. Depending on the vacancy for which you are applying, you may need to take a professional test.

    Results

    • Our HR staff will check your status and your test scores. If you obtain the minimum required grade, we will invite you to our office for an interview with HR and your service line specialists.
    • The application process usually takes about 2 weeks.
    • If you do not obtain the minimum grade, you can apply again to the same department in 6 months.
    • Regardless of your result, you will be contacted with feedback.

    Job interviews

    The most important and exciting part of the process is the interview.

    • You will have the first interview with an HR specialist, which will take about an hour.
    • There are two more interviews after that: one with a department manager and the other with a partner or senior manager. You should be ready to answer some professional questions: treat it as an opportunity to show your competence and ask specific questions about the job and the routine.
    • For some vacancies you will need to solve a business case or carry out a particular task (such as write an essay or translate some text).

    Job offer

    • You will receive our answer within 48 hours of the interview. We also provide you with feedback to help you all the way.
    • If you successfully passed all the interviews, we will contact you by phone and make a job offer.
    • You should discuss every detail with our HR staff, especially the start date and your action plan.
    • Get ready to come to our office to sign the job offer and all the other relevant documents.

    Welcome!

    • Finally got your job offer? Right after that our staff will provide you with all the required information about documents and your projects.
    • Before you get any action, you will attend a special Welcome to EY training session and meet your new colleagues. Your introductory program may last from 2 days to several weeks. You will be provided with information about projects, teamwork, your work routine, and much more.

What you should include in your CV

How to send your CV

  • Write a brief but comprehensive cover letter
  • Name your CV as "Last name_First name_CV"
  • Check you have a professional-sounding e-mail address (full name preferably, try to avoid nicknames)
  • Send your CV to the right HR specialist (usually mentioned in the vacancy)

Popular mistakes:

  • Too much information on the CV, lots of unnecessary facts or inappropriate humor
  • Bad-quality or too casual photo
  • Numerous special courses and training types that are irrelevant to the position
  • Lack of dates (years of study and work)
  • Spelling and grammar mistakes

If your work experience is less than 3 years, your CV should be no longer than 1 A4 sheet.

During our recruitment process we may ask you to take different kinds of test, some of them aimed at assessing your level of understanding of numerical, verbal, and graphical information, and your English level. Some tests are solely professional.

You will receive a letter with a login and password to access the testing system. Please pay attention to the system requirements and mind the deadline.

Testing can also help you:

  • To gain an objective evaluation of your analytical skills
  • To show your strengths
  • To determine your weaknesses and areas for development.

A piece of advice before testing:

  • Find time to take the test in the morning, or at least before noon while you have a fresh mind.
  • You will need 20 minutes to complete a test, so please plan your time accordingly and try to find somewhere where you will not be disturbed.
  • Check your Internet connection – make sure it is sufficiently reliable.
  • You can take the test on a laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone.
  • Keep a pen, paper and a calculator close – you might need them during the test.

You can try our demo test

  • Senior student or recent graduate (economics or technical studies) with advanced analytical skills. For some positions we need candidates with a specific background and knowledge, for example, with a Math or Law Degree, or additional language skills.
  • Advanced English. EY is an international company, and some of our clients are companies from all over the world. Sometimes you will use English as your working language for communication and documentation, including for reports. The minimal level is Intermediate.
  • You should be able to work full time. The busy season is a time when you work a lot, and even most of our traineeships are full-time. We do not have any “standard working week” or hours – these may vary depending on the project or the type of work. If you stay late after normal working hours, you can order food to the office or go home by taxi at the expense of the company.
  • Business trips are also a very essential part of our work. Some of our employees spend many days, weeks, or even months with their clients. The timing and number of business trips depend on your service line, specialization and client. During the interview you can ask for some detail about business trips.

We want to learn as much as possible about you: your strengths, areas for development, your character and interests. We also need to hear your motivation and, of course, what you know about our company, its business and culture.

We recommend that you prepare an answer to the question "Tell me about yourself": education, experience, career path, personal skills and interests. You may also wish to prepare some questions of your own, about our company and your future position.

Before the interview with managers and your potential team leaders, make sure that you are able to answer all the professional questions concerning your future position.

During the first 30-45 minutes of an interview your interviewer will make some approximate assumptions about you:

  • The level of your professionalism and competence
  • The level of your education and intellect
  • Whether you are sufficiently reliable
  • How skilled and experienced you are.

Dress code:

  • Mind the dress-code! Our dress code is business style, so please make sure to dress appropriately.
  • Fewer accessories, but smarter.
  • It is all right to look slightly more official than needed – much worse if you wear jeans.
  • Be careful with perfume.

Essential rules:

  • Visit our website in advance to look at our values and services.
  • Keep in mind all the requirements and responsibilities mentioned in the job description.
  • Clearly express your expectations and goals.
  • Think of your career in several years’ time.
  • Articulate your strengths.
  • Present your weaknesses as points to develop (and that you have already started!).
  • Ask your questions.
  • Avoid unnecessary and doubtful facts.
  • Do not have unrealistic salary expectations. Your first job is about the experience, not about the money.
