<< Back to Tax

For those new to professional services, EMEIA stands for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa and this truly reflects the international nature of our team. Our Tax Performance Advisory (“TPA”) team consists of tax professionals drawn from across the EMEIA region and beyond, with experience in strategy and process consulting, data management, implementation of tax software systems and building tax requirements into ERP’s and other financial reporting software. These skills, which differ from typical tax consultants, enable us to assist clients with solving strategic as well as practical, everyday issues of creating and operating an effective, transparent and increasingly efficient tax department. We’re not Tax Advisors, we’re not Performance Consultants, we’re both!

What will my day be like working in TPA?

The diverse structure of our team means that we have an equally diverse range of offerings available. We work across all taxes and all industry sectors with clients from across the entire EMEIA region.

As a TPA Graduate you’ll be in the thick of it from day one, attending client meetings, supporting consultants and learning how to use the tools and technology solutions we employ on a day to day basis. You could find yourself analysing accounts systems for tax sensitisation, working with other EY teams on global finance transformations, assisting in the design of enhanced workflow processes to provide timely, accurate data or jetting off to Switzerland to help implement new tax technology in the head office of a multinational corporation.

Among our most common service offerings, we provide:

Tax Data Management – improving the quality of data received by the performance and benchmarking the tax function against market and tax department and implementing software tools to make the processing and reporting of tax data more efficient.

Provisioning and tax reporting solutions - implementing software solutions along with process and controls re-design that support the automating of effective global tax provisioning and reporting processes.

Insourcing/Outsourcing – developing models for all or portions of the tax compliance and reporting needs of a company.

Workflow & information management – setting up processes and technology tools to provide greater control over global tax deadlines and risks in a more efficient manner.

Tax Function Diagnostic and Benchmarking – assessing the tax function against leading practices to identify and prioritise areas of improvement.

Whatever projects come your way, you can be assured you’ll getting great exposure, great experience and the foundations for building a great career.

What training and development will I receive?

The TPA Graduate programme will combine on-the-job experience, a professional qualification and in-house training and mentoring to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required to perform at the maximum level and reach your full potential.

The first few years will be intense. You could be working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant or a Chartered Tax Advisor (or a combination of both), as well as potentially studying for a qualification in project management.

This will be supported by a bespoke personal development programme encompassing tax technical, relationship building, leadership and systems training to accelerate your professional growth at EY.

What opportunities will TPA open up?

Working within ETC gives a unique opportunity to build networks and relationships across borders. By the time you finish the programme you will have a professional qualification, your own client portfolio and a vast list of contacts within EY.

We have TPA professionals across the globe with practises in North America and ASIA, as well as a dedicated Financial Services team here in the UK. You could choose to apply for an international assignment to one of these teams, further your career within ETC or use your network to gain experience in other EY service lines.

What are my options when I apply?

The ETC TPA team is based in our London office and you will have the opportunity to work across all taxes and service lines. As your career develops you will have the option to specialise in either Direct or Indirect Tax solutions.
