We help corporate and fund management clients see how their businesses could succeed in the future and then work with them to make it a reality. The work is fast-paced, high profile and high pressure and often operates within demanding deadlines.
There will be a wide range of opportunities to develop your skills and experience in EY - how far you go is up to you.
Who are we?
We work with a range of clients, both corporate and private equity, often on complex assignments that involve working with colleagues across a variety of disciplines and jurisdictions.
We advise our clients when they are buying or selling companies or parts of businesses, as well as helping clients to refinance or list on stock exchanges.
We undertake financial due diligence work, assessing a target company’s finances and business projections, identifying opportunities, risks, sensitivities and potential mitigations, and reporting on these to our clients, their banks, investors and other parties.
What will I be doing?
You will be working and training alongside experienced due diligence professionals, where you will learn and develop the skills you need to perform financial due diligence across a range of clients, situations and sectors, with some international travel likely.
You will develop a wide range of skills required to assess current business performance and future potential. Your day to day work may include:
What training and development will I be offered?
While you're on our world-class training programme, you'll work towards membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). You'll also build and broaden further your Transaction Support knowledge from internal courses, client assignments and other activities.
We encourage our people to realise their own potential at the earliest opportunity in their career, and move towards partnership as rapidly as they are able. You should note that your ICAS exams are front-loaded to speed up your career progress, so you can expect to be out at college almost immediately on joining and throughout your first year at EY.
As you gain experience, you gain responsibilities and make a real difference to our clients. You'll begin to lead teams and coach less experienced staff, and will develop the skills you need to progress in a varied and challenging career.
What are my options when I apply?
We have Transaction Support opportunities throughout the UK, and you'll initially work with a broad portfolio of clients across various industry sectors in our UK and Ireland practice.
You are eligible to apply for this programme if you are studying for an honours degree or have graduated with an honours degree.
