Oh – and as you’ll be part of a large group of like-minded people, the social side of the internship isn’t bad either.
What is it?
A four or six-week summer programme that gets you fully involved with life and work at EY. To begin with, you will attend an induction to the firm. Then as the pace picks up, you’ll soon be doing the same kind of work as our graduates. You’ll be part of a team working with our clients in one of our four main business areas: Assurance, Consulting, Tax and Transactions.

You’ll benefit from the world-beating excellence of our training, career counselling and personal development coaching from a really expert mentor. And because the work you do will be similar to our graduates’ work, you’ll be able to stretch yourself and make a positive contribution.
If your internship goes well, there’s a good chance you’ll be offered a graduate position within the team you’ve been working for. That means the pressure to find a job during your final year at university is off – you can slot back into a team you’re already familiar with once you finish your degree.
But there’s much more to it than that. If things go really well and we offer you a graduate position, you may be lucky enough to attend our International Intern Leadership Conference (IILC) in Florida the summer before you start full-time.
Summer Internship scheme 1: 6 weeks commencing at the beginning of July
Summer Internship scheme 2: 4 weeks commencing in early August
Industrial Placement programme: 12 months commencing at the end of July
You are eligible to apply for this programme if you are studying for an honours degree and in your penultimate year.
How do I apply?
You’ll need to complete our online application form and Strengths Assessment. We’ll send you the link when you’ve submitted your online application form.
Here’s what happens after you’ve submitted your application:
You will be asked to take our online numerical, verbal and abstract reasoning tests. If all goes well, you’ll be invited to a telephone interview. We’ll be aiming to discover your individual strengths, and it will be your chance to learn more about us.
If you are successful, we’ll invite you to an assessment centre day. You’ll take part in a team exercise and written case study. But the main aim is for you to see what it’s like at EY, and for us to learn a little more about your natural strengths.
You will receive an outcome based on your performance on the assessment centre day.
