| Arun Batra |
Arun is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Equality Standard business. He has significant experience leading local and national diversity initiatives. Prior to NES, he led the delivery of the Diversity Works for London, the UK’s largest private sector equality initiative. As Director of Equality and Diversity at the London Development Agency (LDA), he led the Equality and Diversity agenda in London and nationally where he was responsible for ensuring that London’s diverse communities benefited from £500m annual investment. He also helped shaped legislative content including the Equality Act and led the LDA to the level 5 of the Equality Standard in local Government.
Arun is a prominent figure on many EDI boards including: the Ethnic Minority Business Taskforce , the Olympic 2012 Chief Officer Diversity Taskforce and the CPS Community Panel. He holds an LLB (Hons) in Law, a Certificate in Legal Practice and advance CIPD qualifications in discrimination law.
| Jo Heath |
Jo is Head of NES Assessment Delivery. She has over 15 years’ experience as a Senior Equality Improvement Professional working across multiple sectors. Jo has worked with businesses of all sizes to carrying out complex equality and impact assessments. She appraises company’s equality schemes and assists companies to develop further. Jo is the architect of the NES Standards, competencies and assessment criteria. Prior to joining the NES team she managed a number of other quality programmes and accreditations and led large assessment teams.
As a qualified Auditor she has utilised her knowledge and skills to assess against a range of organisational initiatives and standards such as, Investors in People (IiP), Customer First UK and Customer Service.
| Sara Winfield |
Sara has worked on the NES since concept stage and supports Arun and the rest of the team on an operational level. She also manages and provides administrative support for the team’s engagement with key stakeholders and clients, as well as inbound enquiries.
Sara has many years' experience in a number of environments, including retail, education, legal and financial institutions, and is used to maximising opportunities and managing conflicting priorities. She enjoys interacting on multiple levels and prides herself on her customer facing skills.
Sara takes an avid interest in all EDI issues and is proud to be part of something which will make a real difference.
EY is currently hosting the National Equality Standard website and is working closely with our partner Microsoft to develop an interactive NES portal.
