Spring / Summer 2013

Our European Banking Barometer is a bi-annual study of senior bankers across Europe’s major banking markets. The research provides an outlook on the current macro-economic environment and its impact on banking organisations and the industry as a whole over the next six months.

The Spring / Summer 2013 European Banking Barometer consists of 252 interviews with senior bankers across 11 European markets in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Nordics, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.

Telephone interviews and online questionnaires were conducted in Spring 2013 by two independent, external research agencies on our behalf. The aim was to interview senior bankers at a range of financial institutions representing 50% of the 11 markets, defined as banking assets owned.

Interviews were not conducted with subsidiaries of member/group banks, and a range of bank types including universal, retail and business, corporate and investment, wealth management / private banks and specialist banks were interviewed in each market to ensure a fair reflection of the industry in each country.
