EY has appointed two former FSA investigators to its Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services team as the demand for financial investigation services continues to grow.

Director Samantha Carruthers joins from the Enforcement and Financial Crime division of the FSA where she led high profile investigations into the conduct of both firms and senior management.  This included investigations arising from FSA thematic reviews into conduct of business and financial crime matters as well as examining firm specific concerns identified by FSA supervisors.
Mary Pickles also joins EY’s Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services team.  Mary worked on senior management competency cases, financial crime and anti-bribery and corruption, and Payment Protection Insurance investigations, which included the first fine levied against a member of senior management in the sector.

The firm’s Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services team continues to grow rapidly by over 25% year on year for the last 3 years, driven by the demand for compliance and investigation skills arising from increased regulation and enforcement.

Samantha Carruthers, Director EY Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services, said: “The intensive approach of regulators and continued focus on regulation and compliance in financial services means that the demand for expertise is in greater demand than ever. I am excited to be joining one of the largest investigation and forensic teams in the world and helping to meet the challenges facing companies at a crucial time for financial services. “
“I look forward to working with a skilled team who have a strong reputation for forensic expertise, assisting companies with responding to regulatory concerns, from thematic and skilled person reviews to regulatory investigations.”
