EY - Thear Suzuki portrait Suzuki appointed as SW regional Advisory practice leader on the heels of being recognized as Future Leader by Consulting Magazine

Professional services firm Ernst & Young, LLP has named Thear Suzuki, a Principal with the firm, as leader of its Southwest Region Advisory Practice. The Southwest Region encompasses 13 offices throughout Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Arizona and Louisiana and more than 600 professionals. “Thear is a visionary whose dedication to her clients and commitment to advancing women’s leadership and mentorship has made an incredible difference at EY,” said Randy Cain, Southwest Region Managing Partner, Ernst & Young LLP. “Thear has a proven track record of providing outstanding guidance to clients, working to further develop our professionals and leading within our firm and our profession.”

Suzuki joined EY and the Southwest Advisory practice as IT Transformation leader in 2012. With 16 years of consulting experience, she received a prestigious “Women Leaders in Consulting” award from Consulting magazine in 2013. Thear has worked alongside start-up companies and Fortune 100 titans in multiple industries seeking to fully leverage technology in their business models.

Thear’s humble beginnings started as one of five siblings of war refugee parents moving between refugee camps during the Cambodian genocide. Her family was sponsored by the Catholic church in Dallas and brought them to the US when she was eight. These were formative experiences directly responsible for the self-reliance, resilience and persistence that have made Suzuki a successful business advisor today. Suzuki is determined to also make a difference in the community, as evidenced by her commitment on the boards of several outstanding programs in the DFW area. In 2013, Suzuki received the prestigious NAAAP 100 award from the National Association of Asian American Professionals. She has also been featured in ForbesWoman, Working Mother magazine, the Little PINK Book and DiversityInc.
