EY’s Bob Sydow named one of Consulting Magazine’s 2017 “Top 25” Consultants
New York, 17 May 2017
Ernst & Young, LLP announced today that Consulting Magazine has named Bob Sydow, Principal, Ernst & Young LPP, and Americas Cybersecurity Leader, to its list of 2017 “Top 25 Consultants.” The annual list recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact on client services, industry excellence and leadership. Sydow, who leads EY’s cybersecurity practice, was selected among 400 nominees considered this year.
“Bob’s leadership and vision have been critical factors in helping the EY Americas cybersecurity practice become globally recognized as best-in-class,” said Bob Patton, Vice Chair, Ernst & Young LLP, and EY Americas Advisory Services Leader. “Bob has taken an innovative approach based on attracting top talent and leveraging globally-connected resources to help our clients protect their business in a time where many are looking to transform.”
In March 2017, globally respected research and publishing company Cybersecurity Ventures ranked EY as No. 4 of the top 500 companies to watch in the cybersecurity industry, cementing EY as a leading player in the cybersecurity industry. EY’s ranking was higher than any other cybersecurity consulting firm.
Sydow also played an instrumental role in rebuilding EY’s IT practice. Under his guidance, the practice has grown from one hundred consultants to two thousand. As leader of the Americas cybersecurity practice, Sydow oversaw 40% growth in his first year and 50% in the past year.
“I am honored to be recognized among this outstanding group of professionals,” said Sydow. “Our practice is committed to providing value-driven outcomes for our clients and I attribute my success to the stellar team with whom I work every day. This award is really a recognition of the efforts of our entire team, as we work together to build a better working world.”
Sydow has more than 34 years of experience working with major Fortune 500 companies on all aspects of information security, including security strategy and transformation, data protection and privacy, identity and access management, cyber threat management and cyber economics. He holds a B.B.A in marketing and management as well as an M.B.A in finance from the University of Memphis.
