EY’s Kris Pederson Receives Consulting Magazine’s Women Leaders in Consulting Lifetime Achievement Award
New York, 12 December 2016
Pederson honored with 12 other women in leadership consulting positions
ALM’s Consulting Magazine awarded Kris Pederson the Women Leader in Consulting Lifetime Achievement Award at its Consulting Gala Awards Dinner on November 17th, the ceremony’s top honor. Pederson, currently EY Americas Strategy & Customer Leader, leads partners and practitioners dedicated to transforming businesses and industry practices based on corporate purpose, customer/digital experience and innovation.
Throughout her career, Pederson has built a reputation for her speed, authenticity and the capacity to see both sides of any relationship, unlocking its power. Under her leadership, EY’s Strategy practice has helped transform EY’s consulting capabilities by helping clients leverage the opportunities that come from disruption. In doing so the strategy practice has soared with revenue and headcount increasing nearly 10-fold to $150 million and 775 people in just under two years.
“We’re thrilled to see Kris’s leadership and guidance recognized by the industry,” said Bob Patton, the EY Americas Advisory Vice Chair. “Her ability to get to the ‘why’ of a client’s business has proved to be invaluable to her clients and teams alike.”
“Winning the Lifetime Achievement award is a great honor,” Pederson said. “I often tell people that ‘business doctor’ is a great analogy for management consulting, and I’ve been fortunate enough to craft a career around helping businesses and practices get well, become more fit and drive their longevity. There aren’t many women that have made this their life’s profession because it can be incredibly taxing, and I’m proud to be one of them that has.”
Pederson’s purpose of ‘building a more balanced working world’ and her passion for ‘paying it forward’ for working women and working families also differentiates her.
Pederson has over 25 years in management consulting, auditing and financial analysis experience. Previously, she held senior positions in IBM’s Global Business Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Gemini Consulting and started her career as an internal auditor with Consolidated Electrical Distributors.
Kris was also a corporate board of director for Great Western Bank before joining EY two years ago. She currently plays a leadership role in the Rocky Mountain chapter of NACD and the National Association of Corporate Directors as programs chair. She is also an advisory board member for Windward Reports and sits on the Harvard Business School Women’s Advisory Board. Additionally, Pederson is a featured conference speaker on topics such as corporate transformation and purpose, value realization and women’s initiatives. She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Business Administration from UCLA.
