EY relocates Johannesburg office
EY, a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, today announced that it has relocated its Johannesburg head office from Illovo to 102 Rivonia Road, Sandton.
Ajen Sita, CEO for EY Africa says, “As part of the firm’s commitment to building a better working world, the move is more than just a new building. Our new address embodies our commitment and connection to Africa and to our clients, people and communities that operate in and across the African continent. It transforms our vision into reality by demonstrating to the market who we are and what we stand for.”
Sita further adds, “Our ability to form, lead and nurture high-performance teams will be critical to our long-term success, thus we have designed the work place of the future in this office. The design modernises our work space whilst further increasing the quality of our work environment.”
EY designed an innovative workplace that includes the following:
- Open plan architecture that encourages innovation, collaboration and creates connections between people whilst enabling people to find quiet areas in which to focus or meet privately when necessary.
- A workspace designed around the different types of work that each person does at different times throughout the day, rather than around hierarchy.
- Innovative collaboration spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology that drive a culture of teaming and innovation.
- A business centre equipped with meeting rooms, video-conference and dining facilities, as well as a coffee and lounge area to enable better client engagement.
The 38,000 sqm development by Eris Property Group includes two towers of eight and fourteen work floors respectively. Registered with the Green Building Council of South Africa for a four Green Star rating , the design of the building focuses on preserving energy, water and waste, and integrates natural light from outdoor areas into the core of the building.
“Today, we can proudly say that we have created a home as the best professional services employer in Africa. We would also like to thank our external partners Eris Property Group, Murray & Roberts, Savile Row, Boogertman + Partners, EES, as well as all of the teams involved in the project, as they show an inspiring commitment to teaming, innovation and setting new standards for the building industry in South Africa,” concludes Sita.
