Manny Stul took control of Moose Enterprise Holdings & Controlled Entities (Moose) in 2000. It has since grown from 10 people to more than 200. Moose designs toy products in Australia and develops, manufactures and distributes from its factories in China and Hong Kong to over 80 countries. It is the fourth largest toy brand in Australia and eighth in the US. Toys are aimed at children aged 4-10 years. Moose is renowned for its innovation. The company has received more than 40 consumer and industry awards worldwide. Manny’s primary focus is to consolidate US operations and get them running smoothly. He sees huge opportunity in China and Russia.

Australian design talent and innovations have led Moose Enterprises to become a global toy phenomenon. Manny continues to take massive market share from global multinational toy companies.


Kayla Itsines and Tobias Pearce

2015 National Emerging category winners

When Kayla Itsines began to build a following on social media for her fitness tips, she and her partner Tobias Pearce saw an enormous opportunity to spread their message. The Bikini Body Training Company Ltd has achieved global recognition for the Kayla Itsines brand through spreading its message of health, happiness and positivity. Revenue comes from fitness e-books, nutrition plans, recipes and merchandise. The company has offices in Adelaide and New York, and warehousing and manufacturing contractors across Australia and overseas. Kayla and Tobias plan to expand the Kayla Itsines brand into more international markets. The company aims to be the largest provider of workout content to the global female consumer market.

The judges were very impressed by Kayla and Tobias’ tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit. They have delivered an inspirational success story with phenomenal revenue and profit growth in a short space of time.


James Spenceley
Vocus Communications Limited
2015 National Listed category winner

James Spenceley is the founder and CEO of Vocus Communications, a leader in telecommunications, data centre and high bandwidth connectivity solutions in Australia and New Zealand. James has steered Vocus through exponential growth. In 2008, he refinanced his home mortgage to fund the telecommunications start-up and by 2009, Vocus was one of Australia’s fastest-growing technology companies. Today, Vocus is a member of the ASX200 with a market capitalisation of more than $600 million. Within five years, James believes Vocus will be the first choice for corporate telecommunications and every IT manager in the country.

James Spenceley put it all on the line in the early days to take on the telecommunications duopoly. He is a driven and focused entrepreneur who impressed the judges with his focus on cultural alignment, vision for the future, ability to execute the business plan and grow shareholder value.


Cyan Ta’eed and Collis Ta’eed
Envato
2015 National Services category winners

In 2006, graphic designers Cyan Ta’eed and Collis Ta’eed started Envato as a way to work online while they travelled. Today, Envato operates one of the largest online creative platforms of its kind. It helps businesses represent themselves through websites, video, branding, print and other media. Thousands of independent designers, developers and creatives provide freelance services on Envato Studio, digital content on Envato Market and educational courses on Envato Tuts+. Envato now has1.75 million active buyers all over the world. Cyan and Collis see substantial potential for taking Envato to new broader markets.

Cyan and Collis have created a global business connecting vendors and clients through the world’s largest creative design platform. Envato has achieved consistent, outstanding year-on-year revenue growth with impressive corresponding profitability.


Dr James Muecke AM
Sight For All
2015 National Social winner

As an ophthalmologist, Dr James Muecke felt a strong sense of moral duty to help people in disadvantaged countries. He established Sight For All to work towards eliminating blindness in Australia and internationally. Instead of a fly-in, fly-out approach, Sight For All trains and equips local eye care specialists and their staff. It tackles childhood blindness and blindness from cataracts, glaucoma and diabetic retinal disease. James was awarded an Order of Australia in 2012 for improving eye health in Asian and Aboriginal Australian communities. In future, James plans to establish an in-country presence in several countries.

Dr James Muecke is achieving wide reaching social impact in the world’s poorest communities through preventing and treating eye diseases. Using a network of benevolent ophthalmologists to train in country eye-surgeons, Sight For All has helped over 500,000 patients in the last 12 months.


Timothy Power
3P Learning Limited
2015 National Technology winner

Motivated by equitable access to education, Timothy Power left a successful law career to create education technologies using mathematics. 3P Learning Limited (3PL) is a global online education company which offers innovative products for schools and students in grades K-12. These include Mathletics, Reading Egg and Spellodrome. The company has 268 employees and sales operations in eight countries. 3PL’s services to the community include the World Education Games and Australia’s Biggest Virtual School Excursion, attended by over 16,000 students from 625 schools. Timothy wants 3PL to reach 50 million students by 2019. He aims to replicate the model in the US and Canada.

Tim Power is incredibly passionate about making a difference in the lives of students across the world. As well as being a wonderful entrepreneurial business, 3P Learning’s numeracy, literacy and science learning software is giving students an advantage in first world and developing countries.
