Advisory

Our Advisory Service Line is interested in students from all degree backgrounds including business, commerce, engineering, technology, science, human resources, organisational psychology and law. Within Advisory, you may join the Advisory Consultant Group (ACG) where you will focus on either Risk or Performance Improvement. If you are interested in technology consulting and digital solutions, we encourage you to apply to our Performance Improvement – EY Technology team.

Students who have a background and interest in both accounting and information technology may be interested in joining our Technology Risk team.

Tax

Assurance

In Assurance, the majority of students who join our service line have an accounting major. However, we also consider students studying commerce, economics and finance (including dual degrees in IT, Engineering, and Mathematics). You are required to complete your Chartered Accounting qualification to work in Assurance so if you do not have an accounting major, we will support you to complete the Graduate Certificate of Chartered Accounting Foundations prior to commencing the Chartered Accounting Program.

Within Assurance, you can also apply for a position within our Climate Change & Sustainability Services team if you have a strong interest in climate change and energy, sustainability, outcomes measurement (i.e. social impact), or environment, health and safety. We consider students studying a wide range of disciplines, including commerce/economics/business, climate change, sustainability, health, safety, engineering, and science.

Our Fraud Investigation and Dispute Services team looks for students who may have a forensic accounting/investigations background or those studying a combined legal/criminology and accounting degrees.

Tax

In Tax, we encourage students from all disciplines to apply. We recruit students from a wide range of backgrounds including commerce/business, law, engineering, business information systems and accounting. If you’re studying economics, you could consider career opportunities in Transfer Pricing.

We also look for students studying business information systems, computer science and software engineering for the Research and Development team.

Our Tax - People Advisory Services team will be looking for students studying business, organisational psychology, human resources and mathematics for Reward and students studying business and accounting for Global Mobility. Our Global Mobility teams will also be seeking those students who have a background in immigration.

Our Quantitative Services team will look for students studying a degree in engineering, data analytics, mathematics or actuarial studies.

Our Assurance practice sits under assurance and has the largest intake of vacationers. We generally require all applicants to be studying accounting however, we may also consider students studying commerce, economics and finance. You are still required to complete your Chartered Accounting qualification to work in Assurance so if you do not have an accounting major, we will support you to complete the Graduate Certificate of Chartered Accounting Foundations prior to commencing the Chartered Accounting Program.

Within Assurance, you can also apply for positions within our Climate Change & Sustainability Services area if you are studying commerce, climate change/sustainability, chemical/electrical/civil/environmental engineering, geology, geography environmental science and health and safety.

Within Forensic & Integrity Services, we look for students from a variety of degrees including accounting, business, commerce, forensics and law.

Tax

Within our Tax division we are looking for talented individuals studying commerce, law, science, technology, engineering and mathematics either individually or a combination of the above. While we consider a broad range of study areas across all of our tax disciplines, below are some specific areas to provide additional guidance in selecting a preferred position:

Students with an accounting or a double degree with finance, law, or business law may consider joining Private Client Services. Our Indirect Tax team look for students from a commerce background preferably with an IT double major (or interest in this field). If you are studying physical sciences, mathematics and other science, technology, engineering and mathematics degrees, individually or combined with law and commerce/accounting you could consider opportunities in our Research and Development team.

Students with a focus on commerce and/or law either individually or combined with other areas of study may consider joining Corporate Tax. Our People Advisory Services team look for students with a commerce and/or law, IT double major (or interest in this field). Students with a background in commerce preferably combined with IT, data analysis or mathematics based disciplines may be interested in joining Quantitative Services team.

We also have a Transfer Pricing team who look for students completing their degree in economics, finance and accounting, mathematical sciences, international business, actuarial studies, or business/law combined with commerce.
