EY sponsors Australian film and television awards night of nights
Thursday 22nd January 2015 - EY, sponsor of the annual Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, said the firm was looking forward to celebrating the Awards Ceremony in Sydney next Thursday evening.
EY signed on as one of AACTA’s founding sponsors with a three-year sponsorship deal, and became a sponsor of the AACTA Awards Ceremony. As part of EY’s sponsorship, the firm acts as an independent observer for all voting procedures.
EY Media and Entertainment Leader David McGregor said the awards were a great night out and a national celebration of our Australian entertainment stories and talent.
Mr McGregor said the AACTA Awards were Australia’s top film and television Awards, and an international stamp of screen success creating audiences, sales and opportunities for our media and entertainment industry.
“Australia is undoubtedly a talent hub for film and television actors, writers and industry professionals. The AACTA Awards is a public opportunity to honour our home-grown talent and the broader industry for the passion, commitment, dedication and creativity it brings to our community,” Mr McGregor said.
“EY has a long history of supporting the arts in Australia as we recognise the significant role they play in our communities,” Mr McGregor said.
The Awards are presented during two major events in Sydney - the AACTA Awards Luncheon (which is an industry event largely focused on screen craft awards) and the AACTA Awards Ceremony, which is broadcast on Network Ten on Thursday 29 January at 8:30pm. Some of Australia’s top film and television stars announced to present at the 2015 ceremony include Adam ZWAR, AACTA Prez Geoffrey Rush, Lachy Hulme, Steven Curry, Marta Dusseldorp, Danielle Cormack, Dan Wyllie and Kat Stewart.
