- EY wavespace™ opens in Sydney, first users focus on future of health care
- More than 40 public and private sector health care operators meet to solve systemic challenges
EY has officially opened its EY wavespace™ innovation hub in Sydney to facilitate cross sector collaboration and design thinking principles to solve future problems. The new innovation centre is part of a global network of innovation centres that bring together EY technologists, business strategists and experience designers.
The first session scheduled for EY wavespace Sydney in mid-November will see more than 40 public and private health care leaders gather to examine emerging opportunities and threats as the system becomes increasingly digitised and connected, consumption patterns change, and privacy issues take centre stage.
“An aging population, increasing demand for services together with changing consumer expectations means the health care sector is ideally placed to be the first EY wavespace Sydney workshop,” EY Oceania Health and Life Sciences Leader, Jenny Parker said.
“Unconventional players are jumping the fence from the tech sector, retail, financial services and telecommunications, and converging on the health care domain. They are disrupting incumbent players and creating entirely new operating models. This will require leaders in the sector to think differently to create better health outcomes,” she said.
EY wavespace sessions gives organisations access to EY’s extensive experience in disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics process automation (RPA), blockchain, data analytics, digital, customer experience, and cyber security, as well as EY’s deep industry domain and regulatory experience.
“Cross collaboration is integral to the success of innovation and out of the box thinking. The idea of breaking down silos has been discussed by organisations and the business community for years. EY wavespace aims to breakdown these barriers and make innovation and creative thinking something that doesn’t just happen once a year but on a regular basis and by a variety of stakeholders,” said Tony Johnson, EY Oceania CEO and Managing Partner.
At EY wavespace Sydney, companies will collaborate with EY’s team of professionals to innovate and increase their competitive edge by challenging existing business models, helping them to use EY wavespace as a platform to take full advantage of technology, and a place to nurture innovation and inspire talent.
“Globally and in the region, EY has accelerated its investment in innovation. The opening of EY wavespace Sydney will provide Australian based companies with the opportunity to access some of the latest technology and thinking to drive innovation,” EY Oceania Digital and Emerging Technology Partner, Kurt Solarte said.
