We are a long-term partner of the private sector in Belarus and a major investor. This year we hope to see women entrepreneurs among the winners. Women entrepreneurs expand the horizons of opportunity for women and help to narrow the gender pay gap. According to IFC data, equal representation of women in business could increase productivity 13%-25% in various fields. Women entrepreneurs are committed to enhancing living standards and opportunities not only for their children, but for society as a whole.”
Li Haixin, General Director of Industrial Park Development Company JV CJSC (Great Stone), notes: “Innovations and entrepreneurship are essential aspects of economic development. This is getting a lot of attention in Belarus, and many special support mechanisms are being created. Our project, the Great Stone Industrial Park, is being built to provide high-tech businesses with enhanced conditions, including a fully prepared site, infrastructure, preferences and product promotion, and this can help the contestants develop further and set even higher goals.”
Pavel Laschenko, EY Belarus Managing Partner and head of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program in Belarus, says: “I’m very grateful to the members of the independent jury and the finalists for all their fine efforts in previous key stages of the competition. We would also like to thank the Belarus entrepreneurs who weren’t named as finalists this year for showing such interest in the competition. Each of you is making our lives better. Your businesses are focused on the future and inseparably linked to Belarus. You are improving your operations and creating jobs. You value individual contributions as well as team efforts. Together you introduce innovations, undertake social projects and contribute to developing the Belarus economy and creating a positive image of our country. Your success story is the story of Belarus’s success; it provides examples and encouragement for entrepreneurs just starting out and those seeking solutions to complex issues in the world of business.
