Oliver Blum appointed new Managing Partner Legal Services

Oliver Blum has been appointed Managing Partner of Legal Services at EY Switzerland effective 1 July 2016. He will be responsible for Legal Services for all clients in the Industry Sectors division at EY in Switzerland. He succeeds Jvo Grundler, who is set to take over the more internally oriented role as Legal Counsel of EY Switzerland. Both are based in Zurich.

Zurich, 27 June 2016 – Oliver Blum (48) joined EY Switzerland in April 2016 as Head of Mergers & Acquisition Legal Services. He has been appointed Managing Partner of Legal Services at EY Switzerland with effect from 1 July 2016. He will succeed Jvo Grundler (50), who will assume the role of Legal Counsel EY Switzerland. Oliver Blum will be responsible for all legal services to industry clients, while Christian Röthlin will continue being in charge of legal services for all clients from the financial services industry.

During the last five years, Jvo Grundler successfully led and expanded EY Switzerland’s legal services offering. He now hands over this responsibility to Oliver Blum in order to focus on his new position as Legal Counsel EY Switzerland as well as his continuing client-related advisory role.

Biography Oliver Blum:
Oliver Blum joined EY Switzerland in 2016 as Partner and Head of M&A Legal Services.  He has more than 20 years of experience working for a major Zurich-based international law firm, where he was the Head of the Mergers & Acquisitions Team for the last ten years. He became attorney-at-law in 1996. He has a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Zurich (1993) and a Master’s Degree in Advanced European Studies from the University of Basle (1994). He also completed a Master of Law Degree at Northwestern University, Chicago, USA (1997).
