Adrian Widmer and Michel Stofer – further strengthening EY‘s financial services advisory business in Switzerland
Adrian Widmer (50) has been elected the new Swiss FSO Advisory Service Line Leader with effect from July 1, 2016. In this role he will head up the advisory business for all financial services clients of EY in Switzerland. New joiner Michel Stofer (52) replaces him in his role as FSO IT Advisory Leader. Both will be based in Zurich.

Adrian Widmer gained his expertise in this field during his long career at Accenture, which he joined in 1991 and where he last served as managing director with overall responsibility for the financial services business in Switzerland and Austria. He holds a master’s degree in computer science and business administration from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH).
Michel Stofer: new EY Partner and head of IT Advisory for financial services clients
Michel Stofer joined EY as Partner and IT Advisory Leader for financial services clients with effect from June 1, 2016. A Swiss citizen, Michel Stofer has over 26 years' experience in technology consulting, mainly in financial services. He comes with a strong business network, in particular with various banking and insurance chief information officers (CIOs) in the Swiss and German market. Before joining EY, Michel Stofer was a partner and managing director at Accenture for 10 years, heading up the technology consulting practice for financial services in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. He also worked 16 years at IBM. In his capacity as principal, he was IBM’s Swiss practice leader for IT architecture and IT operations.
