Karin Kirchner appointed Head of Communications and Media Relations

Karin Kirchner now heads up the Communications and Media Relations department at EY Switzerland, reporting to Jacqueline Leichsering, who became Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications for the auditing and advisory firm on 1 July.

Zurich, 12 July 2016 – On 1 July 2016, Dr. Karin Kirchner (45) became Head of the Communications department at EY Switzerland in Zurich. She is responsible for Media Relations and Internal Communications at the global auditing and advisory firm in Switzerland. She reports to Jacqueline Leichsering, Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications, who oversees Marketing and Integrated Communications at EY Switzerland. “With many years of experience in external and internal communications at international companies, Karin Kirchner is an ideal addition to our communications team at EY Switzerland,” says Jacqueline Leichsering.

The main task of the communications team will be to position EY’s new orientation as an integrated transformation advisory firm for companies planning their digital future. The aim is to further raise EY’s profile and more firmly establish its mission statement with stakeholders.

Lukas Meermann, the former Head of Media Relations, is taking on responsibility for EY’s international communications in the region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “I would like to thank Lukas Meermann for successfully orienting EY’s media activities in Switzerland. He succeeded in significantly enhancing the company's profile. I wish him every success in his new role,” comments Jacqueline Leichsering on the personnel change.

Dr. Karin Kirchner, an Austrian national, has been Head of Communications and Media Relations at EY Switzerland since 1 July 2016. Previously, during 17 years based in Zurich, she handled Europe-wide communications for the brands General Motors, Opel and Saab, most recently acting as the Head of Corporate Communications and Internal Communications at Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe. In 2015, she held an advisory role as Senior Consultant for Corporate Communications at Burson-Marsteller Zurich. She is also a lecturer in Public Relations at the Lucerne School of Business.

Jacqueline Leichsering, Head of Brand, Marketing and Communications, has been with EY Switzerland since April 2015. She has been responsible for the overall brand appearance of the global auditing and advisory firm in the Swiss market since 1 July. A Swiss national, she has many years of experience in branding, marketing and communications, and previously led market-presence activities for the Financial Services division at EY. Prior to that, Jacqueline Leichsering was Head of Brand Management and Reputation Management for the Swiss Postal Service, Group Head of Marketing and Communications with the Quantum Global Group, and Head of Marketing and Media Relations at Accenture.
