Agnes Chan

Managing Partner, Hong Kong & Macau

Agnes is the Managing Partner of Hong Kong and Macau. She joined EY's Australia member firm in 1986 and returned to Hong Kong in 1991. She has over 30 years of experience in serving clients in a wide range of industries.

Agnes is a high-profile member of Hong Kong’s business community and is a regular commentator in the media. She has been named one of the leading tax advisers in Hong Kong by the Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisers in each edition since 2006. Her professional accomplishments have yielded numerous awards in recent years, including the “Best in Tax Individual Award” organized by Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Asian Women in Business Law Awards in 2012. In the same year, Agnes became the first leader outside mainland China to be named China Economic Woman of the Year. In 2015, she was awarded by the China Outstanding Female Entrepreneurs Association as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Female Entrepreneurs in China. Agnes was inducted as an Honoree of the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) HKUST Chapter in 2016.

Agnes is holding various positions in the government and industry bodies. She is an appointed Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission. In addition, she is an appointed member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and the Users’ Committee of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department. She is also an accounting advisor of the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China. Currently, Agnes is a member of the General Committee and the Chairman of the Financial and Treasury Services Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. She is also the Chairman of the Legal and Financial Affairs Committee of the Zonta Club of Hong Kong.

Her other community services include membership in the Corporate Advisory Council of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, the Accounting Advisory Board of the University of Hong Kong’s School of Business, and the Advisory Board of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s Institute for Emerging Market Studies.
