EY launches Entrepreneur Of The Year 2015 in Saudi Arabia
Riyadh, 15 February 2015
EY has announced the launch of the Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) 2015 award in Saudi Arabia for the second year in a row. The program celebrates the success of entrepreneurs who build and lead successful, growing and dynamic businesses. The event has been running for 28 years in 145 cities across 60 countries.
Fahad Altoaimi, Office Managing Partner at EY, Riyadh, says:
“This is the second year that the Entrepreneur Of The Year program will be running in Saudi Arabia. Building on the immense success of last year’s event, we are very excited about having the opportunity to continue giving Saudi entrepreneurs the recognition they deserve. The program demonstrates EY’s commitment to fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship, which is a major driving force behind economic growth in Saudi Arabia and around the world.”
This year, the EOY program will focus on SMEs, which is in line with the Kingdom’s strategy. SMEs are one of the main supporters of the Kingdom’s economy and a fundamental catalyst for its growth. EY seeks to highlight the entrepreneurs behind successful SMEs and give them the opportunity to accelerate their growth and success.
Waleed AlShubaili, Business Development and Entrepreneur Of The Year Leader at EY, Riyadh, says:
“Entrepreneurs provide one of the main engines of growth in any healthy economy. Saudi Arabia has recently seen a significant rise in the number of SMEs, which are vital for diversified economic growth and job creation. Compared to the average of G20 countries, the cost of setting up a business is around a third less in Saudi Arabia, which is a great incentive for entrepreneurs in the Kingdom. We want to continue what the Saudi Government has already started in encouraging and supporting the entrepreneurial spirit of SME owners in the Kingdom.”
The winner of the EOY award will go on to represent Saudi Arabia at the globally renowned World EOY award ceremony in Monte Carlo in June 2015, competing against fellow candidates from over 60 nations for the title of World EOY.
To be eligible for consideration, nominees must be owners or founders who are primarily responsible for the daily operations and recent performance of a privately held business (not a subsidiary or division), that is based or has chief operations in Saudi Arabia and is at least two years old. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
Self-nominations are encouraged and there is no fee to enter. To apply, entrants may contact EY’s Riyadh Office at +966 (11) 215-8989 or email email@example.com.
