Daniela Petkova is a Partner, Financial Accounting Advisory Services Leader for EY Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo. Daniela has been with EY for 20 years and became a partner back in 2014.
Daniela has extensive professional experience as an executive in charge of a wide range of financial advisory, accounting and auditing engagements. The large advisory projects involve finance transformation and process improvement in a shared service center environment. Financial accounting projects include various trainings as IFRS, leading practices in financial reporting, conversions to IFRS or Bulgarian GAAP, accounting assistance and advice on complex transactions, consolidations and drafting financial statements. Daniela has led a number of auditing engagements in both internal audit field and external audit being a certified internal auditor and a public accountant in Bulgaria. Daniela is a lead lecturer in auditing in a Master’s Program at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. Further, she is involved actively in the educational activities of the Bulgarian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and chairing its Professional Ethics Committee.
Daniela holds a Master of Business Administration (joint program with the University of Humberside & Lincolnshire, UK) & Accounting and Control from the University of National and World Economy in Bulgaria. Daniela is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Bulgaria, a fellow member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with the Institute of Internal Auditors, USA and in the Public Sector with the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance.
