This is the inaugural Modern Slavery Statement for EY Australia, prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2018, for the financial year 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020.

EY has taken active measures to enhance our modern slavery framework, in support of the wider goal of eradicating modern slavery and other forms of labour exploitation, both in Australia and on a global level. Whilst we acknowledge that issues relating to modern slavery persist around the world, we are confident that our first reporting period has laid a solid foundation from which we can build our future responses and develop our framework further.

Our first modern slavery statement details our actions during the FY20 reporting period, including establishing our position and minimum standards on modern slavery, assessing modern slavery risks across our operations and supply chain, embedding key policies and procedures into our existing control environment, as well as conducting due diligence activities over high risk suppliers. These actions allowed us to properly assess the efficacy of our control environment to manage modern slavery risks.

The statement also highlights a number of future goals for our modern slavery framework and we look forward to reporting on these in the coming years.
