EY announces 82 new Australian partners

David Larocca, EY Regional Managing Partner and CEO Oceania today welcomed the announcement of 82 new partners to the Australian EY partnership (“EY Australia”) in the 2023 financial year.

This includes 53 promotions to partner and 29 direct appointments (appointed through the 2022 financial year).

The newly promoted partners reflect the firm’s growth in a broad range of EY services – 13 in the firm’s rapidly growing Consulting practice, 12 in Tax and Law, 9 in the Strategy and Transactions business, 8 in our market-leading Assurance practice, 7 in Financial Services and 4 in People Advisory Services.

A record 27 – or 51% - of the newly promoted partners are women, up by 6% per cent on last year. This means that as at 1 July, the overall percentage of female partners will increase to 32%. At least one third of the newly promoted partners are culturally and linguistically diverse.

The new partner intake will result in 756 partners across Australia as at 1 July, an increase of 7% compared to last year. All partners are equity partners.

EY also appointed 26 associate partners in 2023, across its Assurance, Consulting, Tax and Strategy and Transactions service lines, 31 percent of whom are women. “Our new associate partners are an extremely talented group of individuals, providing vital services to our clients and we are delighted to acknowledge the value they bring”, said Mr Larocca.

“Our people are our greatest asset, and our new partners and associate partners represent the fabulous talent we have right across the firm. I look forward to working with all of them all as we take on the challenges and opportunities we face as we move into 2024 and beyond.”

In total, EY appointed 91 new partners across Oceania.
