With our EY digital boardroom you have all the information you need to manage a company, from top to bottom, wherever you are.

A digital meeting room was science fiction a few years ago. Nowadays you only need a laptop or iPhone and an internet connection for meetings.

A digital boardroom is an all-in-one cloud platform. The basis is the technology of business software developer SAP. EY adjusts the system so that companies - from whatever sector - find all necessary data in real time. The platform and its functionalities give the users an answer to the question of how their company is currently doing and why it is doing so (root cause analysis). Moreover, they find what they can expect in the future. Based on that, strategic decisions can be made.

A concrete example? Take, for instance, a chemical company. It should collect data about the basic products that it purchases. If its raw materials suddenly become 25 percent more expensive, the company must take increased costs into account in its financial planning. The company must correctly assess such fluctuations in order to adjust its prognoses at any level. In the past, management asked the controller to adjust the models. He then had to look for the necessary information for all services. This is no longer necessary with the EY digital boardroom. All information is available, from top to bottom in the organization.

The platform and its functionalities give the users an answer to the question of how their company is currently doing and why it is doing so.

Lego blocks

The digital boardroom can be seen as Lego blocks. The basis is the SAP system, but you can build and assemble all kinds of new features on it. As EY, we have constructed around fifty use cases based on our project experience in various sectors, technologies and process optimization. These use cases are a good starting point, and you can also adapt them to any company or to new technological possibilities.

The major advantage of the digital boardroom is that you work much more efficiently. You do not have to go through the entire chain from high to low, but you immediately reach the information you are looking for. Naturally this saves time. And above all, you get a 365-degree overview of your organization. You can connect with anyone else. Of course this requires a change in mentality. As with any digital transformation, you can only optimize processes and embrace new technology if your people are with you.

The digital boardroom is a typical example of the enormous possibilities of new technology. We introduce it in a setting such as the EY wavespace in Antwerp where principles like sharing, co-creation and co-innovation prevail. This disruptive laboratory opens the eyes for many companies. Soon new ideas arise. You can work these out on the spot, make them concrete and ultimately turn them into a finished product or service. You will soon get rid of stuck patterns.
