From July 1, 2021, new rules for distance sales of goods come into force. The main changes provide for a new single threshold for registration in distance sales of goods, as well as the responsibility of online platforms for charging and paying VAT in certain cases.

In connection with the above changes, the new rules introduce possibilities for simplified VAT declaration through special one-stop shops, which aim to reduce administrative burdens and avoid the need for VAT registrations in many EU countries.

VAT E-commerce Assistant

APIS Europe AD and Ernst & Young Law Parnership have created a new product - VAT Assistant for E-Commerce, which will help businesses quickly navigate the new regulations, registration, update and tax declaration procedures.

Summary

This was a short overview of the new rules for distance selling of goods.
