Dr. Liu Jiren’s exceptional academic record and deep industry insight have successfully transformed a small business founded on a university campus into Neusoft, a global software powerhouse and one of China’s leading IT solutions and services providers.
Today, Neusoft has a workforce of 20,000 employees worldwide, 10 software R&D bases, 8 regional headquarters, and a comprehensive marketing and service network covering more than 60 cities across China, as well as subsidiaries in the United States, Japan, Europe, the Middle East and South America. It was the first listed software company in China.
Dr. Liu realized early on the benefits of going global: today about 35% of Neusoft’s revenue comes from abroad, and around 6,000 employees are involved in international projects. This perspective has changed the way they work.
“At the beginning, we thought Chinese companies should be managed in the Chinese way, but we have drastically changed our mind,” Dr. Liu explains. “Now we combine different leadership and management styles. This is a global company, with global knowledge.”
