New capabilities support laser focus on talent and innovative technology

Today EY Canada is pleased to announce the expansion of its electronic discovery (eDiscovery) services. The announcement follows last year’s strategic hire of Martin Felsky, EY Canada’s Electronic Discovery and Information Governance Leader, whose mandate has been to build on existing EY capabilities to offer clients a broader range of services and skills, coupled with an innovative approach to pricing.

“Under Martin's leadership, EY Canada now offers a full suite of end to end eDiscovery services,” says Zain Raheel, EY Canada Forensic & Integrity Services Leader. “This includes forensic data collection and analytics, evidence witness interviews, data processing and hosting, review support, as well as locally managed document review.”

Worldwide, EY manages thousands of Relativity user licences, hosts petabytes of client data and works with more than 500 law-qualified professional document reviewers in nine locations. Locally, all client data is hosted and accessed in the secure EY ISO-compliant Canadian data centre and lab, where it is encrypted whether at rest, in transit or in use.

“We’re proud to offer cutting-edge services supported by a robust team of professionals,” says Felsky. “Not only have we updated software and added up-to-date encryption to all data repositories and systems, we have also enhanced the speed at which large volumes of data can be processed, transferred and stored, resulting in a more efficient and thorough process.”

The new state-of-the art storage consists entirely of solid-state drives (faster, more reliable than magnetic disks) with storage scalable to 16 petabytes. EY has also introduced adaptive pricing models that can be custom-tailored for each eDiscovery need depending on the length of the project, review timeframe, and the volume of data.

"Our focus is on innovation, talent and technology,” says Felsky. “I believe that our newly expanded eDiscovery offering captures all three priorities, and will benefit clients as they seek to streamline their digital evidence management and control costs."
