Partners receive highest distinction for CPAs in the accounting profession

EY Canada is pleased to announce that five of its partners have received the highest distinction recognized in the accounting profession. Alycia Calvert, Tony Ianni, Humayun Jafrani, Stephen Shea and Eric Xiao were among those selected by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario) as Fellows (FCPA) of 2018.

The FCPA designation recognizes CPAs who have made an impact to the accounting and finance profession, and whose achievements in their careers and in their communities have earned them distinction. Individuals are nominated and selected as Fellows by a committee of their peers based on their volunteerism, leadership and commitment to the profession.

“On behalf of EY Canada, I’m thrilled to congratulate our five Fellows recipients. This is an amazing — and well-deserved — accomplishment,” says Eric Rawlinson, EY Managing Partner, Greater Toronto Area. “They’re leaders, innovators and mentors in our firm, helping us realize our purpose of building a better working world every day.”

Fellows are also recognized role models outside of the workplace, serving as board members for charitable organizations and business associations, industry committee members and community volunteers.

“Fellows are CPAs who have distinguished themselves through their commitment and service to our profession and their communities,” says Carol Wilding, FCPA, FCA, President and CEO of CPA Ontario. “Fellows are models for all CPAs, demonstrating our profession’s high standards, integrity and professional excellence.”

Rawlinson adds: “The rigorous demands of the CPA designation spur the kind of professional character that builds trust and creates value across the business world and in the community. All of this year’s Fellows should be immensely proud.”

CPA Ontario honoured the Fellows of 2018 at a presentation ceremony on 4 December.
