Sandy Trust

Passionate about climate change and sustainability. Excited to work in sustainable finance. Loves the outdoors, father of two with lovely wife Jo, lives in Edinburgh. Plays the bagpipes occasionally.

Sandy leads the UK Financial Services Sustainable Finance Transformation team, advising financial services clients on topics including climate change, ESG integration, stewardship, sustainable finance, biodiversity and net zero.

Sandy is a qualified actuary, who has over 20 years of financial services experience. He is also Chair of the UK Actuarial Profession’s Sustainability Board. Prior to joining EY he led the development of Purposeful Finance within the professional services industry.

Sandy holds a BSc degree in Pure Mathematics, with first-class honors from Newcastle University.

How Sandy is building a better working world

Sandy blends his passion for sustainability with his financial services skillset to help accelerate the shift to sustainable finance. He does this by developing thought leadership, leading collaborative research, and working with clients and institutions to drive change. He is one of the key contributors to the "Waking up to nature – the biodiversity imperative in financial services" paper which explores the pivotal role of financial services in helping to solve the biodiversity crisis. Sandy is also Chair and Founder of the climate change action charity, Protect Our Winters UK.
