Areas of focus

Monica is Head of Financial Services Regulation at EY Law, Ernst & Young LLP. She also serves as EY Law EMEIA Wealth Asset Management Law Leader.

Monica is experienced in providing advice to global financial institutions on strategic, legal, regulatory and compliance matters. She regularly advises on a range of matters including regulatory authorizations, group entity re-organizations, group entity re-organizations, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, product development, distribution advice and product governance.

With over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Monica is recognized for providing strategic advice and is noted as a leading lawyer in the UK, being ranked in the Legal 500 and individually commended by FT Innovative Lawyer. She has led innovative projects, including writing legislation for Peer-to-Peer lending, leading an industry initiative for the implementation of the MiFID II inducement regime and launching one of the world’s first cryptocurrency ETFs.

Monica serves as an ambassador for the Diversity Project and is co-founder of the social media #FishOutOfWater campaign. Monica earned her LLB(Hons) at the University of Manchester.
