Working at EY-Parthenon France
The work we do
In the EY-Parthenon France office, we are focused on addressing the critical strategic decisions CEOs and business leaders in our client organizations have to make.
Our clients engage with us to challenge the status quo in their organizations and generate a customized approach to address their complex business issues. Our teams connect with the right people and ask the right questions, helping to produce actionable strategies that our clients can use to reach their full potential.
Samples of some frequent client questions our casework addresses are:
- How will the market evolve in industry X over the next five years?
- How can we gain market share in our market segment?
- Have we properly defined our market segment? Who is our real competition?
- How can we get the most out of organic growth in our company? How can we grow through acquisition? Who should we target?
- What should our footprint look like?
- How should we allocate our resources?
To supplement the traditional case team role, EY-Parthenon provides numerous opportunities for consultants to participate in internal initiatives that support the business objectives of the practice. In these roles, you will influence the direction and success of these initiatives, resulting in meaningful and lasting impact for the practice. Examples of the types of extracurricular activities you may be involved with are:
- On-campus recruiting
- Training program
- Alumni relations
- External communication
- Office life
The culture we foster
At EY-Parthenon, you will spend your days with smart, nice and driven individuals, just like yourself. We are dedicated to fostering a cohesive environment that promotes collaboration, communication and mentorship. Learn how the culture of EY-Parthenon will impact a lifetime career.
It’s about our people …
… you will hear that a lot here at EY-Parthenon. Our secret to being one of the top consultancies to work for is about our recruiting of professionals who meet three seemingly simple criteria: Smart. Nice. Driven.SM
Smart. Nice. Driven.
Our highly analytical approach demands that we recruit and retain extremely bright, intellectually curious individuals.
Our clients report that our professionals’ friendly, arrogance-free style separates us from competitors. Egos are checked at the door!
Our professionals are motivated to provide the highest level of service to our clients and to seize the opportunities that our entrepreneurial culture affords.
With the proper mix of the qualities above, EY-Parthenon sustains a culture that is collaborative, supportive and a formidable venue for creative and analytical thinkers to solve our clients’ greatest challenges. And the best by-product — our people enjoy coming into work each day to work side by side with their peers.
We recruit candidates from “Grande Ecole” Programs of the top French Engineering and Business Schools: Ecole Polytechnique, CentraleSupélec, MINES ParisTech, Ecole des Ponts ParisTech, HEC Paris, ESSEC Business School, ESCP Europe and Sciences Po Paris.
What we are looking for are motivated, enthusiastic and talented people who combine excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate clearly and succinctly, and a strong personality, capable of original and creative thinking and problem-solving.
From your first day at EY-Parthenon, we will staff you directly on projects, where you'll be making a significant contribution straightaway. There will be ample opportunity for on the job learning. In addition, you will regularly receive formal training.
No. We aim to staff our consultants on as wide a variety of projects as possible, to maximize the learning opportunity for you. In later stages of your career at EY-Parthenon, you are expected to start specializing in specific sectors and/or project types.
We like to spend time with our colleagues outside working hours as well. Apart from Friday evening drinks, we have office lunches every month and office days several times a year. We also launched a yearly skiing weekend two years ago, which was initiated by consultants. We applaud personal initiative! Also, we take time out several times a year to get to know each other more informally during events like our summer retreat and international training events, where colleagues from international offices meet.
Consulting is not a 9 to 5 occupation. The pace of our projects is driven by our clients’ needs and our motivation to deliver outstanding results. Therefore, the workload can be hefty at times. More important, it is hard to sketch a typical working week or even put a number of hours on it. It just varies. That being said, we believe that a healthy balance between professional and personal time boosts our performance and joy in life. We don’t believe in “face time,” so if you finish early or happen not to be staffed, there is no one holding you at the office. We believe in watching out for one another, but also in individual responsibility and dialogue in managing the balance.
France office alumni have moved on to make their careers in many different professional and business contexts. Some take on management positions with companies and organizations in a wide variety of industries or not-for-profit sectors. These companies can be former clients but also other leading enterprises in their respective fields. Others take our entrepreneurial spirit to the next level and start their own businesses: we’ve had our share of start-uppers and entrepreneurs. Given our leading private equity practice, it won’t come as a surprise that quite a few of us eventually join private equity firms. Perhaps the better question therefore would be: what can’t I do after EY-Parthenon?
We organize and take part in a range of events in our office or at schools where you can meet our consultants face-to-face and discover what EY-Parthenon stands for. Please review our important dates section below for details about school recruitment fairs, but be aware that we also have many other events taking place in addition to these fairs. The complete list of our recruiting events can be found at the bottom of the page.
To apply, you need to submit your resume and a cover letter. If we select you for the application process, based on the above material, we will invite you to our office to participate in a three-step process:
- 1st round: written numerical test followed by an interview with one of our Senior Consultants
- 2nd round: interview with one of our Managers or Senior Managers, followed by an interview with one of our Directors
- 3rd round: interview with one of our Partners
Interviews are structured around a discussion about the candidate’s career path and motivations, as well as a case study based on real past projects.
