On 24 July 2024, the Israeli authorities announced that the implementation of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, which was initially expected to begin in August 2024, has been postponed to January 2025. The ETA will become mandatory for all visa-exempt foreign nationals who seek to undertake short-term visits to Israel for business or tourism purposes starting January 2025. An ETA will authorize individuals to board a flight to Israel. However, their admission will be subject to the approval of border control agents.
