Peter Chen, Chairman and CEO, Qisda Corporation

When Peter Chen took over as CEO of electronics manufacturer Qisda, he knew he was facing an uphill battle. It was 2014, and the company was struggling to keep pace with a booming electronics sector. Peter was willing to take on the challenge, determined to win back the faith of investors and customers alike.

He began his transformation of the business by building a successful medical electronics unit, manufacturing an array of products such as ultrasound imaging systems and offering health care services through two hospitals in China. He also drove M&A and built more than 40 strategic alliances with other Taiwanese companies to boost resources and revenue.

The result has been a regeneration of the electronics manufacturing sector in Taiwan as well as incredible growth for Qisda, with profit increasing fivefold over the past five years. The group is currently the world’s largest exporter of digital light processing (DLP) projectors and No. 2 for exports of liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). Qisda has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as a Top 100 Global Tech Leader.
