Vassilios is a Partner at EY’s Assurance Services in Greece. In addition, he is the Vice-Chairman of EY’s Audit firm in the country and oversees EY Assurance operations in Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Kosovo, Malta, Moldova, North Macedonia, and Romania. From 2013 to 2020, Vassilis was the Head of EY’s Assurance Services in Greece.
As an Audit Partner at EY, he has been leading audits on a number of large and complex entities listed on the FTSE Large Cap index of the Athens Exchange.
Vassilios is a Certified Auditor Accountant from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece and a Certified Internal Auditor from the International Institute of Internal Auditors.
He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Athens and an MBA from the ALBA Graduate Business School. He received executive education at the IMD Business School, the Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, and the Harvard Business School.
Vassilios has 25 years of experience in auditing and assurance. He is technically experienced across a wide range of services, including internal and external audits, financial audits, privatizations, initial public offerings and offerings of shares, forensic investigations, sustainability services, IFRS and US GAAP, etc.
In his career, Vassilios has focused on the consumer products, power & utilities, mining & metals, and airlines sectors, where he has led assurance and advisory engagements, involving multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
How Vassilios is building a better working world?
Vassilios has been a strong proponent of gender diversity and its promotion internally, as part of the broader diversity and inclusiveness discussion within Assurance at EY.
He has been heavily promoting connectivity between EY and the university community, through the establishment of structured programs which allow students to gain on-the-job experience within the EY Assurance practice, as part of their studies.
Recently, he has demonstrated an active interest in the promotion of the value of corporate governance in Greece through the organization and active participation as a speaker in relevant events, while also publishing articles related to the overall enhancement of corporate governance for businesses in the country.
