This year, our annual symposium offers a series of perspectives focused on the central topic of Building a better working world: Transforming organizations with purpose-driven management.
During the keynote session titled Deep purpose companies: Brokering peace between profit and purpose, audience members will have the opportunity to pose questions directly to Dr. Ranjay Gulati, professor at Harvard Business School and leading figure in the movement for purpose-driven management.
In a separate session, Shugo Yamaguchi, Senior Vice President at Sony Group Corporation, will join us as a speaker to showcase successful examples of purpose-driven businesses built from the ground up.
The deep academic analyses and grounded studies of corporate initiatives on view during the symposium are sure to provide insights that will help drive forward the transformations underway at your organization.

We are delighted to welcome Ranjay Gulati, Professor atof Harvard Business School, who has developed a strategic action plan for company leaders to create long-term value. During the latter half of the sessionlecture, an interview session will be held with Nobuko Kobayashi, Partner, EY Strategy and Consulting, finishing with a Q&A involving participants (simultaneous interpretation available).

We are pleased to welcome Shugo Yamaguchi, Senior Vice President , Sony Group Corporation, to learn about process for exploring and creating new business based on open innovation merging sports, the metaverse, and mobility business areas. We will hear tips on how to instill purpose-driven management within businesses as well as specific corporate promotion activities, through an interview with Yujiro Taguchi, Director, EY Strategy and Consulting.

Dr. Ranjay Gulati
Harvard Business School
Ranjay Gulati is a Paul R. Lawrence MBA class professor at Harvard Business School and one of the top handful of business school researchers whose research on how "resilient" organizations drive growth and profitability is most relevant to management practice.
He has been published in leading business journals, the Harvard Business Review, and various other media, and is the author of numerous books. He lives in Newton, Massachusetts.

Shugo Yamaguchi
Senior Vice President, Sony Group Corporation
Shugo Yamaguchi joined Sony Corporation in 1992. He began his career facilitating the management of the Sony Group's video, DVD, and personal computer businesses in Japan and the United States. He then transferred to the corporate planning division at Sony's head office, where he played an integral role in formulating key aspects of the Sony Group's business strategy, such as the launch of joint ventures, new business development, and technology scouting. His subsequent roles focused on the fields of healthcare and entertainment (music, movies, sports, etc.), where he worked both within the Sony Group and with third parties to build new businesses and establish several joint venture companies. He currently serves as Vice President of Sony Group Corporation as well as Director and Deputy President for Sony Honda Mobility Inc.
