Luxembourg, 12 December 2019. As announced on 8 November 2019, EY Luxembourg will complete its 10-year Vision 2020 strategy cycle with the end of its financial year on 30 June 2020. Over the past 12 months, with the aim to execute the new EY Global strategy, Next Wave, Alain Kinsch led an in-depth strategy definition process involving all the EY Luxembourg partners to design the EY Luxembourg Ambition 2026, and design its implementation through a six-year plan, setting the 10 clear strategic ambitions for the financial years 2021 to 2026.

Planning for the upcoming retirement of most members of the current leadership team, Alain Kinsch conducted soundings in 2019 with all the Luxembourg partners to build a consensus on the size, roles and composition of the new leadership team. The entire Partnership was keen for Alain Kinsch to continue as Country Managing Partner, yet after 11 years in the role, Alain Kinsch expressed his desire for a new managing partner to take on the leadership of EY Luxembourg and the new team in July 2020 and get the mandate to execute Ambition 2026. Alain Kinsch will continue to support the transition until December 2020.

“Today I am delighted to announce that my fellow partners fully support Olivier Coekelbergs to become my successor as of 1 July 2020 as well as endorse all the members of the new Country Leadership Committee. The designation of a new Country Managing Partner is always a very particular moment in the life of a partnership and I am very pleased and proud that our partnership demonstrated its unity and strength in participating in a smooth and constructive sounding process leading to a great outcome in less than a month. Olivier has a strong focus on excellent client service, development of our services and growth of our talent, as well as a true commitment to actively support the development of the Luxembourg economy. Since joining us in 2004 as an auditor in the Private Equity practice, Olivier became a partner in 2010 and took over the leadership of the Private Equity practice from me in 2012. He has then demonstrated strong leadership skills by tripling the revenues of that market leading practice in the past 8 years. He is a great choice and I will be delighted to hand him over the helm of the partnership and will be pleased to continue supporting him thereafter”, says Alain Kinsch, Country Managing Partner.

“I congratulate Olivier and the new members of the Country Leadership Committee that have now been entrusted by our partners with the mandate to execute Ambition 2026 from July 2020 to June 2026. I wish them great success and they will of course be able to count on my full support ! It is still too early to say ‘goodbye’ but I would like to seize the opportunity to thank my fellow 10-year Country Leadership Committee members Jeannot Weyer and Bernard Lhoest for their strong support over all these years.” concludes Alain Kinsch.

“While he will still be with us until the end of 2020, I would like to express already now on behalf of the entire partnership, our gratitude and recognition for the leadership, commitment, success and relentless energy of Alain over the past 11 years as our Country Managing Partner”, says Jean-Michel Pacaud.

“He gave us and delivered on a strategy, creating and managing a united and engaged partnership, always focusing on best client service and excellence in execution. I am very honored to become Alain’s successor and am committed to live up to the expectations of our partners, people and clients”, adds Olivier Coekelbergs.

“I am also very pleased to announce that as part of the new leadership team, Yves Even will take over the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors from Jean-Michel Pacaud who will retire on 1 July 2020. At EY Luxembourg, the Board Chairman is an active partner who plays an important role both within the Partnership and on the local market. Yves is leading our Commercial & Private Sector practice with a particular focus on Luxembourg- based companies, entrepreneurs, family-owned enterprises and the public sector. He is very client-centric and well known in the local business community so I am pleased that Olivier will be able to count on the support of Yves as I was able to have Jean-Michel on my side”, says Alain Kinsch.
