  • The Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development recognized EY for its Gender Diversity Strategy and commitment to create a sense of belonging for all employees
  • 35% of global board level promotions were female at EY this year

EY has won the ‘Most Impactful Diversity & Inclusion Initiative Award’ at the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development’s (CIPD) Middle East People’s Awards.

The awards, which took place remotely in September 2020 with more than 200 virtual participants, recognize the work of human resources and learning and development professionals. The ceremony this year highlighted the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, lockdown, and resultant economic challenges.

CIPD acknowledged EY’s commitment to progressive gender diversity strategy and policies, as seen with 35% of global promotions at board level being female this year. EY’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) goals broadly fall into three categories: no dilution, no regression, and fair representation.

Commenting on the recognition, Rachel Ellyard, MENA Talent Leader, EY, said:

“The diversity and inclusion agenda of EY is a key pillar of our strategic goal to create a workplace where employees are represented fairly at all levels, have equal opportunities for career advancement, and access to continuous skill development programs. We fully recognize that diverse perspectives bring significant benefits to every organization, including improved decision-making, greater innovation, and increased agility during times of disruption.”

“In addition, EY has launched numerous initiatives - including self-development programs, parental leave policies, and flexible working - that not only nurture our employees so that they can better serve clients, but also help people perform and progress within EY and throughout the rest of their careers.”

EY places a strong focus on employee wellbeing and career growth, putting its people at the core of its strategy. The D&I program has been key to integrating talented women as well as ensuring that different viewpoints and backgrounds are represented fairly throughout all levels of the organization.

“At EY, we believe that building a better working world means leveraging the power of different perspectives and experiences to create long-term value for our people, the businesses that we work with, and the communities that we serve in,” concludes Rachel.
