The COVID-19 pandemic has led Governments to take multiple actions in the field of taxation. With businesses and operations shutting down, several employees have become fully or partially redundant, which led to the announcement of new Government measures such as the COVID-19 Wage Supplement. These measures raised taxation questions and practical issues for employers, including business support measures and payroll.
This session will include:
- The practical perspective when it comes to payroll, together with any Final Settlement System and Social Security considerations.
- Explanation of both local and EU VAT related measures ranging from changes in rates and deferral schemes.
- Other VAT related issues which have arisen due to the nature in which business developed including bad debts.
- A high-level update on developments in domestic corporate and international tax occurring in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
